WASHINGTON, D.C. – Recently, Congresswoman Lateefah Simon (CA-12) co-led 77 of her colleagues, including every Democratic Representative of the California, Colorado, Illinois, and Minnesota delegations in demanding the Trump Administration to immediately restore public health grant funding to those states. This comes after the Administration terminated Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) grants that support core public health infrastructure and disease prevention.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Lateefah Simon (CA-12) and Congresswoman Sara Jacobs (CA-51) introduced the Connecting Communities Through Transit Planning Act. This bill would make permanent and expand the Pilot Program for Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Planning to support housing projects near new or existing transit corridors. It would also strengthen the TOD planning program by ensuring critical predevelopment work and meaningful community input are incorporated into grant eligibility and planning decisions

OAKLAND, CA – On January 30, Congresswoman Lateefah Simon (D-CA-12) announced her new legislation, H.R. 6069, the Rapid Intervention and Deterrence for Enhanced Rider Safety Act, or the RIDER Safety Act. This legislation would support transit ambassador, or transit support specialist, programs at public transit agencies across the country.
