U.S. citizens seeking to be evacuated, should complete the State Department’s crisis intake form. When completed you’ll receive pertinent information on steps and instructions for assistance (please make sure to check your spam and junk folders)
Residents should also enroll in STEP to get up-to-date safety and security information.
1. STEP is a free service which allows U.S. citizens and nationals to enroll their trip abroad so the Department of State can accurately and quickly contact them in case of emergency.
2. Benefits of signing up for STEP include: real-time updates about health, weather, safety, and security in the country, allows the embassy or consulate to contact you, allows for planning ahead using information from the local U.S. embassy.
